Rules

Your mission is to find your target in a Non-Safe Zone. When you find your target, gently tap them on the shoulder or arm and inform them they have been “gotten.”

Rules of Engagement:

Safe Zones (people cannot be “gotten” in):

- Within the confines of a class or any other academic engagement

- Within the target’s residence hall EXCEPT
lobbies (see next post for specifics)
- When on duty (between 8 PM - 8 AM)

Other Rules

- When you “get” someone, you need to email Brian (bthopkin@syr.edu) and he will email back “confirmed.”

- Misconduct (such as fighting, running in the residence hall or being illegal) and excessive force/overcompetiveness (you only need to gently tap) will result in termination from the game. Play nice.

- See Brian Hopkins or Bill Walsh for any discrepancies.

- There are rounds. By the end of the 1st, you must have “gotten” 1 person. By the 2nd, 2, etc. See the below post for deadlines of the rounds.

- Last person un-”gotten” will triumph!

Deadlines for Rounds

These are simply to keep the game moving. If you fail to meet a deadline (having actually tapped the person before the deadline), you are instantly terminated and your assignment is reassigned to another player.

Make sure to keep these dates handy:

1st Deadline is January 22
This means by this date at 11:59 PM you will need to have gotten at least one person total.

2nd Deadline is February 5
This means by this date at 11:59 PM you will need to have gotten at least two persons total.

3rd Deadline is February 19
This means by this date at 11:59 PM you will need to have gotten at least three persons total.

NON-Safe Zones in Residence Halls Detailed

This explains where you are NOT safe in residence halls. Places with no unsafe zones means that once you are in the front door, you are safe. Below are two diagrams for the two complex spaces in Haven and Marion as well as clear outlines for the other buildings.

Note that bathrooms, stairwells and elevators ARE ALWAYS SAFE ZONES.

Booth: The entire First Floor

Butterfield: None (whole building is safe)

Dellplain: The entire First Floor

Ernie Davis: The entire First and Second Floor

Marion: The lobby and the main lounge
(once inside the hallways of the rooms, you are safe)

Walnut: None (whole building is safe)

Washington Arms: The entire First Floor
